Welcome to the WordPress site of the CLOMA Clans of the Philippines.
This site was made for the purpose of documenting the various clans of CLOMA Family settled in various areas of the Philippines in a hope to connect each of them to the root, original and first CLOMA family name bearer.
Initially, it is generally known that the CLOMA clan started in the island town of Panglao in the province of Bohol. This site was made for the purpose of verying this fact, to know who is the starting point and the history behind.
It is hoped that with this site, you as a CLOMA will be able to locate your roots and get reunited with your ancestors. So please help us by sending us your share of information that is not reflected here. We need each other.
As the famous Filipino saying goes, “ang hindi marunong lumingon sa pinanggalingan ay hindi makakarating sa paruruonan.” “Much of our story is given to us. Our skin color, language, IQ, DNA, personality and worldview are all handed to us as a gift from our family as Dr. Chuck Quinley would say in a devotional book. Indeed, it is true. Our background, no matter how bad or good it may be, still was handed to us by our ancestors. Those are the things that defines our past and present but our future depends on what we are going to do about it.
This is the 2nd site of the CLOMA Clan. We made this because of the difficulty in updating the other site (http://cloma.weebly.com).

it’s a very nice start to trace our roots and soon meet as a clan. i am glad my mother who will be celebrating her 90th bday on nov. 1 is still with us and i hope i can gather information about our roots. my mother, severina cloma is from lila and her only brother is living in panglao whom we have not heard if he is still alive or not. hoping we also can help each other in tracing our roots.

this is a nice blog… my grandpa once live in panglao bohol.i know very little about the family… He is Antonio H. Cloma but i did not know any cousins except those that were living here in General Santos City… i am hoping to meet some of you out there…. the only person that i am familiar of is mr. tomas cloma, because my father have shared to us his visit here and how my grand pa help him when his ship sunk.
My Great Grand father is eduwardo cloma married to anastasia horcasitas, and one of their siblings was my grandfather named antonio cloma who eventually went out from panglao bohol for futher studies in manila, where he meet my grandma dorotea alas, they eventually settle here in general santos city because of my grandpa’s brother. i grew up here and i really would love to know more about the family…

Hi Ria… thanks for your inquiry. This is the start to make some ways to connect to each other. We havent done anything yet like an eyeball or a reunion. But we hope to stir up the clan to promote communication with each other and hopefully we can set a reunion per province, region or even national soon. I’m Philip Cloma of Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. My father is Filemon son of Ciriaco from Panglao, Bohol. I move to Canada when I was 18 and i will be 49 pretty soon, but I still remember my summer vacation in panglao when I was I kid, it was so much fun for me. Me and my family, 4 kids and 1 grandkid, will be vacationing to the Philippine and will be heading to Bohol this April. Hopefully I can connect with some other Cloma’s in Bohol. My dad is Romeo Gonzales Cloma who is the son of Narcisso Cloma who is the one of the brothers Tomas Cloma.
I remember Manong Isoy, as we call him. I was still a child then but I remember him dropping by to see my Father everytime his in Manila.

My great-grandfather is Ciriaco Cloma, Grandfather is Filemon Cloma.
I am the daughter of Filemon’s eldest child, Irenea.
Every Cloma who lives in North America (18 and counting)came here because of my wonderful parents, Irenea and Romy Ignacio. They were the pioneers – the first of their families to come to North America.
My parents sponsored Filemon’s widow, my Lola Gabriella “Belen” and four of her siblings:Laura Marina & her husband, Ramir, Philip and Oliva.
I am proud of my Cloma heritage, and proud that my Lolo Filemon’s family now lives mostly in Canada (with some in the States). I am a Forensic Scientist and I know that my Lolo Filemon is proud of my mother and proud of me.

My paternal lola was Teodora Cloma. She married my Lola Andres Lagare and live in Lila, Bohol. My father Valeriano Lagare migrated to Bacolod City, Negros Occidental. We, his siblings, except for Miguel, we born & raised in Bacolod City. I attended grades 3 & 4 in Lila, Bohol but, though I know we have relatives in Panglao, I have never been there. The only Cloma I have personally known is Capt. Virgilio “Boy” Cloma, son of Vice-Admiral Thomas Cloma, back in 1998. I wish

Hi. I stumbled upon this website and thought it was quite interesting. My grandmother is Emilia Cloma, whose father is Narciso Cloma, brother of Tomas Cloma of Maritime Fame.
